care of silver

Being a natural material, silver may tarnish with time if not being worn and can be affected by moisture and oxidants in the atmosphere.
The best way to keep it sparkling is to keep wearing it! Remove to shower and avoid spraying perfume directly on your silver,
allowing perfume to fully dry on the skin before putting your jewellery on.
Silver is best stored in a sealed box or bag.
Any tarnish can usually be removed by rubbing gently with a soft cloth, or by using a silver dip cleaner, both of which are easily available,
even in supermarkets.

Oxidised silver: the silver is dipped in a chemical to blacken it, and the finish can
shine up a little in time, which is part of its charm. Avoid using silver dip or rubbing with anything abrasive on oxidised elements.
If you would like your piece re-oxidised at any time, just ask!

HALLMARKING

I work mainly in 925 sterling silver, the majority of which is recycled eco-silver - a more sustainable alternative. Pieces are hallmarked as required at the Birmingham Assay Office.
Hallmarks include unique Makers mark (PG), Sterling Silver mark (925) and the Birmingham Assay Office mark (anchor mark).

Shipping & Returns

Packaging: All items are shipped in beautiful branded matchbox-style boxes,
with a business card enclosed. I’m a sucker for nice packaging, but also concerned about the environment. My packaging is sourced in the UK from an independent company that champions the use of recycled materials and ethically sourced products. The boxes I use have recycled content, FSC Certified fibres and are recyclable. My stationary is printed on recycled papers.
Dispatch: All items for delivery in the UK and internationally are dispatched by Royal Mail
Timings: All my jewellery is hand made from scratch using traditional techniques. Every effort is made to dispatch items as quickly as possible. Many items are held in stock and can be posted within a day or so, however, some items may need to be made to order and sent for hallmarking once complete. Please allow up to 4 weeks for UK delivery - I will contact you if this is the case. If you need your purchases quickly, please don’t hesitate to contact me by phone or email. If it’s in stock, it will of course be dispatched straight away!
Returns: If you are not completely happy with your purchase, please contact me within 14 days of receipt. I will happily exchange or refund items, provided they are returned in perfect condition in the original packaging within 21 days.

Made by hand

All items are made by hand and therefore can vary slightly from photos shown.
Natural variants will occur, which is part of the hand making process.

I believe that buying small-scale, hand-crafted goods from local makers gives you something truly special and unique. By shopping with me you are avoiding mass-production and supporting a sustainable small business, which makes me very happy too - thank you!

what are ‘eco-silver’, ’recycled silver’ and
‘Gold Filled’?

Eco-Silver is sterling silver that has been recycled from waste silver and processed into clean material ready to make into something new. It is more sustainable and kinder on the environment than newly mined silver. I use recycled silver as a raw material whenever it is available.

Gold-filled is a higher quality alternative to gold plated and more cost-effective alternative to solid carat gold. A layer of 14ct gold is bonded to a base metal, making it durable and hardwearing and should not scratch off or tarnish.
